Reusing Animation Controller (Mechanim/Fuse/Mixamo)

So, I thought the point of Animation Controllers, and animations separate from the characters, was that I could load any character, and drop the controller on it. Didn't think each character needed a different animation controller and different animations (like they needed to be exported from Mixamo.com for each model). I ask, because I'm having massive problems performing the simple task of exporting 5 golfers from Fuse/Mixamo.com, downloading the animations, and getting them to play in Unity 5. Here are some of the problems I'm having: - Animations come out wrong, where the arm passes through the body during the backswing. - Some of the animations stay in place, and some move the character - The idle animation rotates the model a few degrees each time, so after a few seconds the character is sideways, standing in the air. ---------------------------------------- Keep in mind these look flawless on the Mixamo website, I've done everything they instruct, I've tried Generic and Humanoid (rewrote my code to try using Legacy as well), sometimes I have the checkboxes for bake root animations, and sometimes I get "Root animation driven by curves." I guess, my question is, Is Unity 5 and Mechanim this buggy for everyone? It couldn't be, or no one would be using it. Is there anyone who can walk through step by step correctly getting 5 models into a Fuse Project, with the same Animation controller (or at least the same set of 20 or so animations) applied and working well for each of them?
